Bruges has a renowned reputation as a beer city, thanks to its rich brewing traditions and its many ‘brown’ beer pubs. Besides, also the Bruges Beer Festival, where some 80 Belgian breweries present more than 500 beers, contributes to the city’s beer fame. Every year, the Bruges Beer Festival is the first of the major Belgian beer festivals, attracting Belgian beer lovers from many countries. The attending breweries represent a mix of long-established names and interesting newbies in the craft beer scene. A variety of food trucks will provide hot and cold meals on the spot, while many local restaurants will offer beer inspired menus.
